Today we actually started working!

We made our basic skeleton and started working off that. We are working great so far and it is actually refreshing to have a group thats works well together.

Here is our skeleton:

Structure of our Skeleton

“Birth”

Freddy sits in a wheelie bin in the middle of the stage. Maxel walks on throws bag in bin whilst walking to his position top left of bin. Lauren then walks on similarly taken the right hand side. Sanjana proceeds to walk on then Chessie. All together we curiously advance towards to strange bin. Freddy bangs side causing widespread jolt, again and again this happens although each time we show increasing bravery. Eventually turning bin over allowing Freddy to fall out.

“Pulsate”

Chessie pulls bin to side of stage, Freddy and Maxel set up baking paper wall. Lauren turns on torch behind baking paper. Lauren, Sanjana and Chessie take positions and begin shadow act. After movements are complete, the three rip through the paper, falling on top of each other.

“You are what you are”

Chessie stands a proceeds to march with whistle. Others get up and follow with normal walking and happy faces, normal conversations, laughter. Demonstrating the normalness, steering away from this idea that undeveloped countries hold naturally born “savages”. Freddy holds Sanjana's hand while Maxel and Lauren laugh at one another like having a good conversation. However they still react to whistle and boot thumps given by Chessie. Maxel walks around arc in front of Chessie. Chessie gestures to kneel down, rubbing dirt through face and hair. Lauren watches horror, the other two oblivious to what’s happening. Lauren react to her whistle by walking haphazardly to Chessie. Chessie Smears dirt on face and she sits next to (but no communication to) Maxel. Sanjana goes and then Freddy.

“New prey”

(?) emerges from bin, goddess like figure decorated in myriad of cigarettes and cola labels covering her frock. (? group) notice one by one, appearing to be excited by this image, they lift (?) from the bin and set (?) down. Cuddling and kissing (?)s feat, the goddess appears confident and powerful. One by the group slowly leaves her. She notices and shows signs of panic. She tries to regain their attention however they keep shrugging her off. She tries shaking them and grabbing shoulders until one of them throws her off and she falls to the ground in a heap. She is in a rage, face down to the floor. The (?) group float around her to the other side transforming into “undeveloped country”. Goddess looks up at them slowly, stands up then runs over shrieking holding shirt out to appear extremely disturbing. She is shrieking with pure anticipation and sadistic joy. When she gets to the group she forces herself on them trying to hug them and after a while they let her. Shrieking “Y O U W I L L L O V E M E”. Consuming them.

"The Net"

The whole group joins hands in circle and begins spinning however at different points it is lower and others it is higher. Lauren lets go to go in (others keep moving but join hands where Lauren isn’t). Lauren falls to the ground but rising up again, as if renewed. Freddy jumps in the middle while Lauren takes his place. The circle moves faster, Freddy is in the middle shaking, gives up and falls to ground. However like Lauren he gets up renewed. Maxel jumps in and falls. Circle disperses, Maxel looks up but doesn’t renew himself. There is no safety net. The group encloses on him, grabbing at his clothes and pull. Maxel tries to evade but becomes engulfed in this violent act as he is at loss.

“A wild dream”

Freddy flips the bin over and hops on. He begins to make paddling gesture. At this point Sanjana goes on back with freddy and helps paddle. Hopefully the bin will be wobbling. Chessie pulls Maxel on skateboard (lying on front) down the stage via string. As Maxel’s body passes Sanjana tries to reach out to him, but loses grip. Lauren slides in front of freddy trying to board boat but Fredd pushes her off. Lauren confused appears desperate and tries again. Freddy blocks her

"Hope"

Organise into structure, (see image) form a symetrical arc on stage. Forming balance and hope. We can break the cycle.

The Cycle of Corruption

Flip bin on side, climb aboard and begin paddling, one stroke at a time. Wiping tears away, people try to climb on board Rock boat.
