Our Final Skeleton!

It took us a while to get to this stage but we did it. Somewhere in the middle I was very worried that we will not get anything done because of the way our group was going but hey its possible. Now everyone just has to remember their stuff because tomorrow is the performance! AAAHHH!

"Birth"

Freddie is in a cardboard box that is pre-set on stage. Maxell walks in throws some rubbish in and takes a position upstage right. Lauren walks in and takes a position does the same thing and takes a position upstage left. Then Sanjana walks in, throws some rubbish in and crouches downstage right, in front of Maxwell. Finally Chessie walks in throws rubbish into the bin and crouches downstage right. We then slowly descend towards the box and start scratching its sides. Freddie suddenly thumps the box from the inside and the rest of us fall back. This is repeated again. On the final one, Freddie keeps thumping the box and we finally let him 'out' and he falls very close to the audience screaming "HELP".

"Escapism"

After "Birth", Freddie rolls out of the way. I join Chessie and Lauren upstage and we are all standing. We then do a cannon where I scream "HELP" and fall to my knees, then Lauren does it and then Chessie does it. Meanwhile, Max and Freddie bring out a transluscent sheet fromt he back and puts it in front of us. Lauren then, subtly crawls to the back and turn a light on so we project shadows on the paper sheet. Chessie then moves her hands in a way that looks like she is hurting me. I lie on the ground and fight her away. Then suddenly she pushes me through the screen and I 'escape'.

"You are What you Are"

Chessie stands a proceeds to march. Others get up and follow with normal walking and happy faces, normal conversations, laughter. Demonstrating the normalness, steering away from this idea that undeveloped countries hold naturally born “savages”. Freddy holds Sanjana's hand while Maxel and Lauren laugh at one another like having a good conversation. However they still react to whistle and boot thumps given by Chessie. Freddie walks around arc in front of Chessie. Chessie gestures to kneel down, rubbing “dirt” through face and hair. Sanjana watches horror, the other two oblivious to what’s happening. She then throws him to the side. Sanjana reacts to her whistle by walking haphazardly to Chessie. Chessie smears dirt on face and throws next to (but no communication to) Freddie. Lauren goes and then Max.

"The Net"

After the previous scene, everyone stands up in a puppet like postition and starts to circle around Max. Suddeny the click into really unrealistic movements to show the 'upper class' helping someone in a developed country who is in financial difficulty. Then we join hands and start a sound and build it up and up and scream as Max stands up. Then Chessie does the same thing. Then Sanjana is thrown in. She represnts people in undeveloped countries and how they do not have that safety net to support them. She starts to get up and the other people in the circle hiss her down. She does this again and on the third time everyone disperses representing The uncertainty of the safety net.

"Goddess"

Sanjana the 'Cigarette Queen' then quickly scurries back into the box. The others start a synchronised worshipping movement that gets faster. Sanjana comes out of the box as if she is the best thing that ever existed, full of arrogance and pride. Not ashamed of the awful things she has done to people. She hovers past each charcater and they sigh in disbelief. She then goes to the front and continues with her arrogance. Meanwhile, the other charcaters lose interest in her and go hide behind teh box. Sanjana starts looking for them but she cannot find them. Then, Max does a loud cough and Sanjana's head jerk back. She then walks over to them and signals Lauren to come with her she follows reluctantly. Chessie then follows Lauren and confronts Sanjana and repeatedly screams " NO" . After a few noes, Sanjana scream "YES" and Chessie becomes furious and pushes Sanjana to the ground. Sanjana is absolutely shaking with anger. She is furious. She looks at the audience and then looks at Chessie and they both scream! Then Chessie returns back to the box but now she and the other characters represent people from underdeveloped countries, who don't know how to read or write. They hold their pens awkwardly and draw on the box. Sanjana sees a new prey. She hovers over them and steps over each of the 4 people and starts cackling with an evil expression and screams "YOU WILL BE MINE". The other 4 people look up at once and drop down.

*Lights*

We did not really think about the framework that this piece is based on before but personally I believe our piece is based on the idea of perpetual motion and the endless cycle of poverty.
